Drake CAN do acceptable DPS in lvl 4's, it's just that most people who use them do so because of low skills and/or lack of knowledge on the game resulting in crap fits and lol dps. Would you use a maxed out Drake with some pimp it's not that bad actually. Still, get a raven hull.

and how is that an unrealistic lolfit? I missioned with that exact setup for a couple of months
- It doesn't DO 720 dps, unless you overheat or add implants (so the number is silly)
- you use fury without rigors so your expl radius is huge
- it's *kinda* expensive to waste on a BC while you could use the cash for a decent CNR instead
So your numbers are a lie and it's a waste of cash: Unrealistic.

You're comparing Scourge Fury with normal cruise. Using fury is going to be annoying against smaller targets if you don't have rigor rigs or a painter.
A good Drake will do 480 dps with drones and normal Scourge.
A good Raven will do 508 dps without drones, and it can field mediums as well as lights.
It's close enough if you really don't like battleships (can't blame you there) and you can use those HML skills for a Tengu as well. The real answer I guess is "they're both decent choices, it all depends on where you want to focus your SP and if you stick to Caldari/gallente rats or not".
